ICBN Student Travel Award

ICBN is offering a sponsored program to provide funding of up to USD 500 for selected graduate students to travel to ICBN 2007 to present the results of their research. This grant may be used for registration, travel or accommodation at the ICBN 2007 meeting in Singapore. Only graduate students who are currently studying at a university outside Singapore are eligible to apply for this travel award. Award recipients will be selected based on the merit of their submitted abstracts. The deadline for applications for the ICBN Student Travel Award for the ICBN 2007 meeting is March 15, 2007.

Terms and Conditions

  1. This award is open only to graduate students who are studying at a university outside Singapore.
  2. The organizers will decide on the final grant amount to be awarded to each recipient. Each grant will not exceed USD 500.
  3. This grant may be used to offset his or her registration, travel or accommodation expenses at the ICBN 2007 meeting in Singapore.
  4. Award winners must be present at ICBN 2007 in Singapore to receive their grants in person. The grant will be in the form of cash or bank draft payable to the award winner.
  5. Each applicant may apply for and accept only one student travel award. All applications must include at least one abstract for consideration, as well as a letter of recommendation from the student's supervisor or professor.
  6. Applications must be accompanied by a valid student ID or an official letter from his or her University Student Office verifying that the applicant is a student over the conference period (i.e. August 12-15, 2007).
  7. The deadline for applications for the ICBN Student Travel Award for the ICBN 2007 meeting is March 15, 2007. Late or incomplete submissions will not be accepted.
  8. Applications will be assessed based on the merit of their submitted abstract.
  9. Winners will receive an email notification of their award on April 30, 2007*.
  10. Award winners must register for ICBN 2007 as a delegate by May 31, 2007 and present their abstracts in person at the ICBN 2007 meeting in Singapore. The organizers reserve the right to rescind the award from students who do not attend ICBN 2007 and present their abstract(s) in person.
  11. The organizers reserve the right to amend the terms and conditions of the student travel award without notice.

* All applicants will be notified about the outcome of their application by May 31, 2007.
